It's been too long

Melonheadz ROCK. I am so happy to have these cutiepatooties to work with when I am building materials for my classes. The kiddos find them fun and appreciate how much they resemble them. Check out my site on Teacherspayteachers.com for freebies and low cost items to help with your rigor. Drop me a line, follow me and rate my products! Feedback is a gift. Besos, Gabby

It's a new day!

My name is Gabrielle U. Hardeway and I am so excited to be guiding your children through the 2nd semester of the 3rd grade! I believe that all children are capable of learning and being successful in school. "It takes a village" is more than just a proverb. It is deeply engraved in my heart and practices.

Now, here's a little bit about me! I have one son that is in the 3rd grade and I am entering into my 2nd year of teaching. I have worked with early childhood through the 12th grade in Houston ISD. I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from University of Houston, Downtown. I was in the corporate arena as a recruiter and an international transportation supervisor before I became an educator. My hobbies include origami, reading scrapbooking/crafts, and blogging.

A positive teacher - parent relationship is pertinent to the success of a child. This relationship embraces trust and respect as we work together to support the child's learning. Please feel free to contact me at 713-226-2685 and leave a message or email me at ghardewa@houstonisd.org. I will return all emails and calls as soon as time permits. I welcome class observations. I encourage you to come eat lunch with your child so that you are able to share a bit more of their day.

Weekly the children will be given homework that will include spelling, math and vocabulary. It is important that you work alongside your child and sign nightly that they have completed the work sent home. Homework is an extension of what we have covered in class.

Before May 2012 gets here, I will love your children as though they were my own. Together we are destined to achieve great things!
